Zoomies Training, Inc., (“Scout,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website located at trainwithscout.com and related online services, including online dog training courses (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how and why we use it, who we share it with, how it moves across borders, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights available to you.

Scout is a Delaware corporation with its mailing address at 8 The Green #10462 Dover, Delaware 19901. Our business is operated from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which constitutes Scout’s establishment in the European Union for purposes of the GDPR. Scout is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this Policy.


2. Information We Collect


We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account, Identity, and Contact Information: name, email address, billing and shipping address, and phone number (collected at checkout); Thinkific account credentials.
  • Order and Transaction Information: order history, purchase amounts, and related transaction records.
  • Marketing Information: email opens and clicks, subscription source, and consent timestamps.
  • Device and Usage Information: IP address, device and browser information, on-site actions, and ad interactions.
  • Course and Progress Information: course access and completion, and progress tracked through Thinkific.
  • Worksheet Information: responses to in-course worksheets, which may include information about your dog, including your dog’s health. Information about your dog is your ordinary personal information once linked to your account — it is not “special category” or “sensitive” data about you.
  • Intake Survey Information (via Tally): upon purchasing a course, you are invited to complete an intake survey hosted by Tally about you and your dog.  The survey includes your name and email address; your dog’s name, age, breed, gender, and weight; how long you have owned your dog and where you got your dog; whether this is your first dog and whether you have multiple dogs; your dog’s primary behavior concern and its severity; The incident that prompted you to seek training; a free text description of your situation in your own words; whether you have tried training before, what kind, whether it worked, and, if so, why it did not stick; how much time you have available for training; your living situation; and who else lives in your home (for example, family members or a partner).
  • Survey, support, review, and (Founders) community content, as described below.
  • Onboarding Session Information: information you provide when booking or participating in a 60-minute customer onboarding session, including information about you, your dog, your dog’s behavior and training history, your household or training circumstances, and the questions you ask. We use Google’s transcription services to create a transcript of the session so we can keep an accurate record, personalize the onboarding experience and related support, and improve our Services.

 

Payment information is entered directly with our payment processor, and we do not store your payment information.  Our payment processor’s use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.

We do not ask for sensitive information about you in free-text fields, and we ask that you not volunteer health, financial, or other sensitive information about yourself. If you choose to include such information anyway, we will not use it for advertising or sell or share it.


3. How and Why We Use Your Information


We use your information for the following purposes. Where GDPR, UK GDPR, or the Swiss FADP applies, we identify the legal basis we rely on for each purpose.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies


We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies necessary for the Services to function (e.g., checkout, login).
  • Functionality cookies, including Shopify's locale preference cookie, to remember choices you make, such as your language and region.
  • Analytics cookies, including Google Analytics (GA4), to understand how visitors use our Services.
  • Advertising cookies, including Google Ads, Google Merchant Center, the Meta Pixel, and Klaviyo, to measure and optimize advertising and to build remarketing and lookalike audiences.

 

Cookie consent on our Services is managed through Pandectes GDPR Compliance (“Pandectes”), a consent-management platform. Pandectes presents our cookie consent banner and records your cookie preferences. The Meta Pixel and Google advertising tags do not fire until a visitor consents.


5. How We Share Your Information


We share your information with the service providers and processors listed below, each of which is contractually restricted to using your information only to provide services to us.

Commerce and Payments

  • Shopify, and Shopify Payments (including digital wallets and EU local payment methods).

 

Course Platform

  • Thinkific (Canada) — course hosting, student accounts, and (if launched) our private community.

 

Worksheets

  • Wobo, operated by Rare Days (Canada; AWS hosting, with some U.S. sub-processors).

 

Email Marketing and Automation

  • Klaviyo.

 

Analytics and Advertising

  • Google (GA4, Google Ads, Google Merchant Center)
  • Meta (including Meta Business Tools like Meta Pixel and Custom Audiences, disclosed here as required by Meta’s Business Tools Terms).  We use these tools to deliver and measure advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to built retargeting and lookalike segments.  For certain uses of this data, such as Meta’s own product improvement and ad-delivery optimization, Meta acts as an independent controller rather than solely as our processor.  Meta’s use of this information is governed by Meta’s Business Tools Terms and Meta’s own privacy policy, in addition to this Policy.  These tools do not fire until you have provided cookie consent as described in Section 4, and this use may be considered a “sale”, “sharing”, or “targeted advertising” under certain state laws.  See Section 10.2 for how to opt out.
  • Pandectes GDPR Compliance (cookie consent management, including presenting our cookie consent banner and recording cookie preferences)

 

Accounting, Infrastructure, and Internal Tools

  • QuickBooks Online; Cloudflare; Google Workspace/Gmail and Google’s transcription services (including meeting transcripts), Slack, and Motion (internal)

 

AI Tools

  • Anthropic (Claude), Perplexity, and Google (Gemini).

 

Surveys, Support, Reviews, Content, and CRM

  • Tally (used to host our post-purchase intake survey about you and your dog); Gorgias; judge.me (disclosed as a sub-processor per its terms); make.com or Zapier; HubSpot; Wobo.

 

We do not sell your personal information for money. Our use of the Meta Pixel, Meta Custom Audiences, Google Ads, and Google Customer Match may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under certain state laws.


6. Artificial Intelligence Tools


We use AI-powered tools, including Anthropic’s Claude, Google’s Gemini, and Perplexity, to help us operate our business, including research, analysis, and administrative work. These tools may process personal information as part of that work, under contracts that restrict their use of the information we submit.


7. International Data Transfers


Your personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom.

  • Adequacy: transfers to Canada, for commercial organizations subject to PIPEDA, rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for Canada.
  • Data Privacy Framework certification: for self-certified U.S. recipients under the EU-U.S. DPF, UK Extension, or Swiss-U.S. DPF.
  • Standard Contractual Clauses, with the UK IDTA and Swiss FADP amendments, where neither of the above applies.


8. Data Retention


We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.


9. Data Security


We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Payment card data is handled entirely by our PCI-compliant payment processor.


10. Your Privacy Rights


10.1 If You Are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland

You have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal information; restrict or object to our processing, including for direct marketing; receive your data in a portable format; withdraw consent at any time; and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Given our establishment in Amsterdam, our lead supervisory authority for cross-border processing is expected to be the Dutch Data Protection Authority.  

Providing certain information is necessary to enter into and perform our contract with you. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.  

10.2 If You Are a U.S. Resident

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to know/access, correct, delete, and port your personal information; opt out of sale, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and certain profiling; limit use of sensitive personal information; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
You can opt out of Meta/Google advertising activity via the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our footer, or by enabling the Global Privacy Control, which we will honor where required.  See Section 5 for more detail on our use of Meta’s advertising tools.

10.3 How to Exercise Your Rights

You can exercise any of the rights described above by emailing us at hello@trainwithscout.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 30 days for GDPR/UK GDPR/FADP requests, and 45 days, extendable once, for most U.S. state law requests).


11. Marketing Communications


We collect marketing consent at checkout, and through our freebies form, footer signup, and Klaviyo pop-ups. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any marketing email.

Order confirmations, account activation, refund notices, password resets, and course notifications are transactional or service messages, not marketing, sent on the basis of our contract with you.


12. Community (Founders Version)


Members appear under their Thinkific account name; posts are visible to other members only and are not published outside the community.


13. Children’s Privacy


Our Services are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.


14. Third-Party Links


Our Services may contain links to third-party websites we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties.


15. Changes to This Policy


We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.
